Recent news and activities

  • Developed by team members from three different organisations, INFFER is the winner of this year's Australian Research Council Eureka Prize for Excellence in Research by an Interdisciplinary Team.

    The group comprises of Professor David Pannell and Sally Marsh, Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy, University of Western Australia; Dr Anna Roberts and Jennifer Alexander, Department of Primary Industries, Victoria and Geoff Park, North Central Catchment Management Authority, Victoria

    The Australian Museum Eureka Prizes are the most prestigious awards in Australian science. The winners were announced last night [August 18, 2009] in Sydney, at a star-studded formal dinner, attended by the country's most inspiring minds.
  • Dr Graeme Doole wins wins the “Heading West Award" and the prize for best article in the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the AARES 53rd Annual Conference in February 2009.

  • Professor David Pannell wins the “Quality of Research Discovery Award”.

  • The Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy was officially launched on 8 July 2009 at the University Club. The centre brings together researchers, scholars, practitioners and government agencies. It develops innovative theories, frameworks and economic models and decision tools. The director is internationally-recognised Federation Fellow Professor David Pannell, who has an outstanding track record of linking research to policy to enhance natural resource management outcomes.
